Alan Dundes

I can't believe it. Alan Dundes has passed away. I found this out while visiting Nader's page, of all places.

Dundes's Intro to Folklore class at Berkeley was such a blast that I signed up to work for him at the Folklore Archives, where I stayed until I graduated.

I know he will be missed. He was an extraordinary teacher.

Cal has taken a serious beating in the liberal arts faculty recently. Donald Davidson and Bernard Williams, two philosophy giants (giant giants), died last year.

Me.

I guess Philosophy is liberal arts. For some reason I hadn't really thought about it.

That is very sad.

You know, I forgot his name, but remember the old professor who sat next to me in our Aristotle class? I saw him roughly two years ago at the Oakland Museum. I wonder how he's doing...I really liked him as well.
